Holybourne Village Hall Trustee Committee – Registered Charity 782217
Well on the way to Extending and Refurbishing the Village Hall!
The Trustees of Holybourne Village Hall are delighted to announce that they have gained a £25,000 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund. The Fund has agreed to make this award as a contribution towards the Village Hall’s planned programme of refurbishment and extension.
Chairman of the Trustees, Mr John Day, said,
"Naturally, we are delighted to receive this huge boost to our plans to extend the Hall and bring it right up to date.
This grant shows that it is still possible foe a small, local volunteer group to gain financial support from the National Lottery, despite the gloom-and-doom stories we have heard recently about much less money going into the Lottery and far more stringent criteria being adopted".
He Community Fund, knowing that the Holybourne Trustees wanted to carry out their refurbishment and building work this summer (during the pre-school holidays) pulled out all the stops and dealt with Holybourne’s application in just four months, instead of the usual seven. This grant can now be added to others secured by the Committee in the last few months. These are:
| Alton Town Council | £ 2,500 | |
| East Hampshire District Council | £ 25,000 | |
| Hampshire County Council | £ 12,500 | |
| National Lottery Community Fund | £ 25,000 | |
| Total | £ 65,000 |
Despite this tremendous achievement and the generosity of our local Governments, we still have a gap of £10,000 before we can begin work on Phase 1, the new extension and entrance.
Local fund raising has already started with the extraordinary amount of £900 raised by Richard Cutts and a small team of helpers, who filled Holybourne residents’ summer hanging baskets for £10 at time one busy Saturday. Thanks Richard!
